Hi Again from the frozen tundra of Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes and rent-a-Favre! Well, the Vikings did it to us again...built up our hopes and sent them crashing down again just shy of the Super Bowl! And I had JUST gotten out of therapy from the Gary Anderson miss back at the end of the last century! Oh well, as much as I hate to admit it, the better team probably won that night. You cannot turn the ball over five times and expect to win!

I know you've heard the ESPN report that Favre is retiring and moving to Minnesota?... He and AP are going to start a bakery and specialize in turnovers! Sorry...bad joke!

And now, to add insult to injury, Bryant McKinnie actually gets kicked off the freakin Pro Bowl roster?! Are you kidding me? What kind of a loser type schmuck do you have to be to get removed from the Pro Bowl roster?! Like he deserves to be in there anyway? Anyone remember he got his big booty benched during the Carolina game? Julius Peppers was beating him like a red-headed stepchild? Just want you to know, he doesn't represent Minnesota. We DO have some classy people up here! Promise...

So...does anyone really think Brett Favre is thinking seriously about playing in the NFL again? He's 39. Beat up. Got a busted up arm that needs a little surgery this offseason. Doesn't like to get hit anymore. Are you seeing where I'm going? Yes, the man is a first ballot hall of famer. Duh. But will he make the Vikings that much better? He would if he could play defensive back maybe. I know, I can hear your thoughts now..."he's better than anything we have now." True...but what do the Vikings have at quarterback? Tjack? Probably the dumbest qb in the NFL right now. Great physical tools. A little light between the ears. Makes Daunte Culpepper look like a Rhodes scholar. Sage? Are you serious? The Vikings payed 9 million bucks for a career backup? Who made that stupid call? And let me finish with this...does anyone think Chilly can coach up quarterbacks after seeing the great job he's done turning TJack into a top flight NFL quarterback? I don't either...

So we're hearing all of a sudden that Kurt Warner doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame? Or at least needs to win on Sunday to become a first ballot lock. Who's kidding who?

I loved Pete Prisco's article on this whole debate. The comparison with Joe Namath was perfect. Why is a boozing skirt chaser like Joe Willie in the Hall of Fame, and Kurt Warner has to win on Sunday to get into that same Hall of Fame? Doesn't character count for anything in our society anymore? And say nothing of statistics! Joe's Super Bowl stats were pedestrian at best. You can make the argument that era's are different, styles of play are different, and whatever. Don't buy it at all.

This guy has been to two Super Bowls, and won one. MVP awards? You betcha. Success against LONG odds! Tons of that. What's wrong with a guy who appreciates everything he has and gives credit to God instead of himself and his "peeps". I hate to say this, but Warner is fighting a bias in the media and mainstream culture against the Christian faith and God in general. If Kurt was caughting screwing around on his wife, constantly self promoting, getting in trouble with the law, and then writing a tell all book that was more opinion than factual, he'd be a first ballot Hall of Fame candidate.

Well, it's time for the Vikings to prove their worth! Have we got the stuff to beat the Cardinals? I'm more than a little worried....I've got Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald on my Fantasy team, and I'm 12-2 going into the playoffs. You think I score a ton of points because of those two? Yep! Gotta get to Warner!

Speaking of put up or shut up....Timberwolves need to put up...I'm not sure what that looks like for such a crappy franchise...How about just being competiive? That'd be a nice change, wouldn't it? Who in the world has Kevin McHale been sleeping with to keep that GM job all these years? He got a thing going with Taylor on the side? Doing a few favors in their spare time? He's got to be the worst judge of talent in pro sports, and that says a lot, don't it?!

Why am I sitting here with my oldest son watching the most meaningless game of the NFL preseason? You know, the FOURTH game of the preseason when the coaches are trying to figure out who the third string players are, and who will be bagging groceries or filling up your gas tank for you at the local filling station? What's the matter with me? Am I THAT desperate to watch football? I think I need a cat scan!

My local high school football team will be starting a freshman quarterback this fall. Lemme tell you about this kid. He represents everything that's wrong with high school sports. Our baseball coach took a gamble on this kid last spring because he's a heck of an athlete and from a very athletic family, right? Coach wanted to keep our ace fresh for the next game against the tournament's top seed. With me so far? So this kid gets a severe case of nerves, and struggles through the first inning and gives up four runs. He doesn't really retire anyone, the other team manages to get themselves out three times to help this kid out. Inning over and his day is done. The very next day, the kid quits and says the coach is gonna ruin his arm! And THIS LITTLE QUITTER is gonna be our starting quarterback on the football team?!! Crap! Are we screwed or what?
